Well, that was a different kind of demoralizing than last night.

I missed it. Got up to spit out my toothpaste, assuming Wesley Wright had things in hand. My bad...

Unfortunately for Wright, Brownie mentioned that he had seven straight scoreless appearances. Moments later...

So is it better to tie the game in the top of the 9th only to have it cruelly wrested away by a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th, or to suffer the ignominy of an 18 (and counting) to nothing ass-kicking, like the Rangers are enjoying right now.

Ooops, now it's 19-0 after a Rangers' wild pitch.

Oswalt's line tonight looks like ours used to look against Mississippi State.

I'm trying to figure out how to make Obi-Wan work with Castro.

Help us, Obi-Wan Castroni, you're our only hope.

That loss is on Brownie.

Actually, it's on Do-Ray, who are very much doing the same thing they've always done. After the Astros go up four zip, one of them says... "It's about time the Astros have a lopsided score, they need this sort of win". Really? In the fourth inning, you're calling it a win? Wow, they've done this in the past, they did it again and they don't learn anything about baseball.

It ain't over until it's over. I knew driving home tonight the Astros were going to lose just by listening to those two gloat.

Good news.  San Diego and Colorado won.  The Stros are now only a half game back from them and 1.5 behind the Cubs.  They can do it!!

Mrs. Reuben could tell DoRay what dumbasses they are- no lead is truly safe with this bullpen. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched with these Astros.

I imagine the Astros will sprint right past them as the season goes on and the pitchers start to wear out.

It does look pretty bleak with this pen.  Hopefully, they can turn it around, but it is hard for me to imagine.  Maybe getting Lopez back wii help.

However, if they deal Wandy and Myers, it will be tough not to come to a complete halt.  My thinking they could reach 70 wins appears to be pure delusion.
