Hooks lose to Los Astros tonight 6-2. Why isn't Cisnero, the CC starter tonight, considered one of the Astros top 20 prospects? In four innings tonight he whiffed 5, no walks, one hit (homer to CJ). Looking at his MiL stats he has well over a K an inning, way under a hit per inning and he's 23 in AA...not young or old. (if's he really 23).  What am I missing?

I believe his walks are greater than his strikeouts.

What MM said and that Cisnero has been very inconsistent, almost game to game.  But I also think there ought to be room for him in the top 20.  Seaton and Alaniz also.  The farm may lack a lot of high-ceiling types, but the depth of players who could ultimately contribute has increased quite a bit, IMO.

So is Meyer slated for a repeat of Lancaster?

His walk totals are higher than you'd like but he's 2-1 K/BB ratio.

Corpus Roster rated #8 out of top 10 MILB rosters by BA to start the season:

Quote
It has been a long time since the Astros could assemble enough talent to fill a roster like this, but last year's trades have helped make up for the organization's minor league talent deficiency. 1B Jonathan Singleton (No. 34) and RHP Jarred Cosart (No. 50) both came over in last summer's Hunter Pence trade. Fellow Phillies' pickups SS Jonathan Villar ahd RHP Josh Zeid are joined by ex-Brave LHP Brett Oberholtzer on what may be the Astros' most talented minor league club in a decade.

I look forward to seeing them when they come to Frisco. I see the Frisco team is also ranked.

They win their 1st game of the year 9-0, behind Cosart who goes 4.1 and Ks 5.

Reid Ryan tweeted that Cosart sat at 98 in the first inning while striking out the side.

Blister issue or something like that.  I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was minor.

Cosart slated to pitch Sunday.
Of course he was slated to start the last time through the order, too, then scratched at the last minute.  We'll see.

Cosart back in the saddle, rolling the Roughriders for 5 shutout innings, giving up just 4 singles and struck out 4.  The Hooks won the game 5-3.
