Clark, I reject (personally) the dissatisfied customer approach to fandom. For me, Baseball is not a product, it is a tradition which is more than a little quasi-religious. The bullshit that the owners do is just part of the game. I really don't care at all, even a little, how much the owners make or loose. I want to see the Astros play--good or bad, NL or worse. The money (very little actually)that I give to the Astros is paltry in comparison to the time and interest I give the local nine.
I am an Astros fan, I'm going to the games as long as we're both in Houston. Bud and Crane don't give a fuck about me, and I don't give a fuck about them. Plus, I'm expecting to sit in some great seats next season, maybe better than I paid for. It also probably helps that I am Catholic. We learn to put up with a lot of disappointment in the administration.

The weird part is looking at headlines like "Mariners looking at Fielder", which normally would elicit thoughts along the lines of "Who gives a crap? Better he go out there..." and realize that, hey, maybe I should give a crap. We may miss him next year, but there would still be plenty of that dadunkadunk at MMP after that if he signed with them.
