Did you just tell me to go fuck myself?!?

No really, I have no idea what this means. I bet it's funny though.

Ashton Kutcher tweeted some pejorative dismay over Paterno's firing last night. He later admitted that he didn't know anything about it when he waded in.

If you're listening to what Ashton Kutcher has to say, that's unfortunate.

Speaking of not having a clue, why on earth are Penn St students protesting? Do they have reading comprehension issues?

He retired.  Never terminated.

He "retired" because he was told that he would not be succeeding Paterno as head coach of Penn State.

Certainly seems like this had something to do with that now.

I don't have the capacity to imagine what could be horrific beyond what has already been reported.

All morning I've had Rudy Giuliani's quote from 9/11 running through my head - when he was asked what the casualties would be:

"It will be more than any of us can bear."

(No, I'm not comparing this to 9/11.  The words just ring true for me in this situation.)

I did love this line once he was done backtracking:  "As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed."

Does it even dawn on people that letting the whole world know every thought that pops into your brain the second that it does is not always a bright idea?

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Well, I think it's kind of a self-selecting population.

He posted an explanation on his blog.

I don't think he has too many bright ideas.  Or, he is playing us all with a genius double negative.

At the risk of sounding disrespectful in a heavy thread, the best zinger dropped on Charlie Sheen at his roast:

"You're just like Bruce Willis: you made some big movies in the 80s, and now Ashton Cutcher is filling your old slot!"

ESPN spent an extended segment yesterday analyzing "what this means to PSU's recruiting class."

If they're going to focus on the minor issues, as well as their own self-serving ones, then they better start asking what this means for their precious Big Ten Network.

The most impenetrable mystery of the entire affair is the continued employment of the unfortunately named McQueary. It is stupefying to imagine that he is still officially associated with the school and will represent it in on the football field Saturday. Overwhelming shame should prevent him from appearing in public. I have searched my memory in vain for an example of more cowardly and craven conduct. Sandusky is first on the despicability scale but McQueary is a solid second.
