You'll know how well it went based on how much I'm screaming like Hitler at noon.

Also, I've heard that there's a cluster of food trucks all near each other in a park or something.  Where is that?

Any other weekend I would join you, but the lady and I are headed out to Lockhart to hit up one of the many options there (I've never been, and Kreuz is her favorite BBQ).

Biz... you waited more than two hours? Two weeks ago we waited an hour after getting there at 10:45. I've never heard anyone take that long before.

It was graduation weekend which probably didn't help (but was the reason I was there).

There's a bunch of them in different parts of the city at different times. There's a group on MLK west of Guadalupe by a couple of blocks, there's a fairly large group on South Congress south of Riverside that you guys might enjoy. There are also clusters on South 1st and South Lamar.

Also a small cluster on the east side on Congress around 2nd street.

I'm in Chapel Hill tonight. Dining at this place. Being a po'bucker I'm not used to fancy eatin' places like some of you experienced epicureans, I'm thinking about the Suckling Pig Confit.

I misread and thought you were in Chappell Hill. I was quite confused when I saw the fancy table settings.

With the shitake mushrooms... You don't really want that in your soup, do you?

Hopefully you're not doing anything to break them of this.

Absolutely not, as long as they understand that you can't get food fried in duck fat at any old place.

Lines at Franklin BBQ probably just got longer: they've got a several-page spread in this month's Bon Appetit, where they're annointed as best BBQ in Texas.

Last I heard, on Friday - Sunday if you aren't in line by 10 you'll be 30+ back and he's sold out on the weekend before he opens.

As a side effect of dining there, however, my sons are now of the opinion that all French fries should be cooked in duck fat.

We had some at a hotel bar I stayed at in New Brunswick last week and they were really good.

FIFY. My issue arrived in the mail today. Great photographs and article. Congrats to Aaron and Stacy Franklin but fuck me, I will not be able to eat there for the foreseeable future, which really chaps me since I was one of his first customers. Ah, the good old days of December and January 2009 when there were no lines and no hoopla.
