One thing that may happen soon, and I mean *real* soon, is the transition from Berkman/Oswalt to Pence/Bourn or some combination therein. Maybe Pence/Myers? I dunno, but seems to me they've made an effort to push errr... market.... Pence more this year upon the fans. Looks to me like they're settled on Pence as a Houston Astro for a good long while and of course the next heir apparent. How does Bagwell feel sitting in the dugout and there is wild-eyed Pence with a bit of saliva on the side of his mouth prancing up and down the dugout pretending to swing a bat to get ready to take his hacks as soon as he can. I would think Bagwell would think to himself "oh deere lowered, you're kidding me... right?"
Come on Houston Astros, don't make Pence, a role player at best, the center of the team. Castro. Bourn. Norris. I don't really care as long as it is not goofy Beaker! Please give a brother a break.

I would have zero problem with everyone following his lead regarding how he goes about doing his job, jsut do not confuse that with how he does his job.

You mean that it's not right if you don't play with reckless abandon like your hair's on fire all the time?

No, I mean I like the way he lays it out there every night (plays hard)...would not mind everyone on the roster following his lead in that department. Just do not confuse the effort with the results...an all-star or cornerstone of a franchise he ain't. Put in another light: the guy is a dive on the floor for every loose ball kind of guy, but that don't make him Kobe Bryant.

Also, the girl for whom he ran through a glass door was there by her own choice.

This is why I cannot fathom anybody being a Kobe Bryant fan.

Being a basketball fan requires one to have a certain moral flexibility. Even the refs are admitted cheats and gamblers.

He's the only one I can think of that was on the World Series team.
