Today's the day. Hurricane season has officially started. Who's your favorite new named storm?Hermine is just too Harry Potterish for my tastes. It would suck to get hit by something named Hermine. Igor, however, is an awesome name for a Hurricane. Just think about all great Young Frankestein jokes we can make. "If you are evacuating, walk this way." Otto is pretty cool too. Totally off topic, my kids are in gymnastics. There's a 4 yr old girl in the class who's name is Hermione. I must refrain from jumping to the conclusion that her parents are HUGE Harry Potter fans. Then again, my 4 yr old son's soccer team was named the Gryffons, and yes also Harry Potter inspired and no, not my doing. |

I'm thinking Nicole will be a storm that looks really impressive at first, but as it gets closer, one begins to realize there is not a whole lot to it behind the facade. Mostly just some high altitude winds, strip the leaves off the trees. A stripper, in other words.

Hurricane Matthew has a nice ring to it. It would be difficult to track, but in the end completely harmless. Always forgetting where it was headed and losing interest in the whole destruction and, you know, rain and wind stuff. They chose that name because of me, right?
