I heard on the radio that he re-teed after the first shot, did he go to the drop zone after the second?

Teed it up again

I get the first shot in the drink on 17, but to stay with the same club on his 3rd was unreal.  Truly like the proverbial train wreck.

Think his rationale was the he had to try to stick it close on the next shot, make bogey, and birdie 18 to have a chance.

A colleague told me there wasn't any on Saturday.  I'm going tonight and will report.

I'm glad it's at the very least in the rotation.  But it'd be a damn shame if that chicken was no longer an every day thing.  Some of the best fried chicken in the city, IMO.

Bench, I'm ashamed of you

I didn't even realize juries did sentencing.
6  General Discussion / Beer and Queso / Re: Texas Lemon Laws on: May 09, 2013, 03:51:43 PM
Panel was 65. Last juror was #38 and the alternate was #40. We convicted, but sentence was on the lesser end. The whole trial, opening statements to sentencing was 3 days.

You agreed with 11 other people on something?

Through 3 rounds:
Rd 1 - #27(27)   DeAndre Hopkins (WR) Clemson
Rd 2 - #25(57)   D.J. Swearinger (S) S Carolina
Rd 3 - #27(89)   Brennan Williams (OT) UNC
Rd 3 - #33(95)   Sam Montgomery (DE) LSU

I like the Hopkins pick...the others are good too, though seem to be more value picks who need some development.  Damn Ravens traded up twice to nab the guy I would have thought the Texans were going to take in that spot: Brandon Williams and Arthur Brown.

While ILB is still a massive need, I wonder if they won't turn to FA (Urlacher) to solve that one for a year.  With the final 4 picks I can see them getting a ILB, RB, QB and TE...(not in order).

They want to move Reed to ILB

I have trouble with that philosophy from time to time. I think that there should be an exception for the bullpen.

You want to start the clock on people so they lose 110 games instead of 120?

Let me know if you come to town, can meet up

What motivated you to Club Macanudo?

A colleague in town from London wanted to go

I finished

And to answer the original question...no, I don't know any good cigar places in Destin.  I'm a south Florida guy.

Was at Club Macanudo the other day HH, thought of you.

Haven't seen this level of asininity in a while - glad to see people still care enough.

You can't buy alcohol at an LSU game.

Pac12 has a conference ban

Instead, here's a topical joke:

Surely Oscar Pistorius can't be the first man to wake up legless on Valentine's Day and shoot all over his girlfriend's face while imagining she was someone else.

NB to readers: Apparently legless is British slang for drunk.

I'm trying to figure out why this guy would want to leave the Royals for the Astros.

Is he the royals play by play guy or more like a royals beat reporter?

60mm of profit - i can't read article so just going by the post
19  General Discussion / Talk Zone / Re: BP: Are the Astros Really Losing Money? on: February 11, 2013, 03:17:39 PM
"The Astros have lost money for the last five seasons" is what Crane is reported to have said.

So, am I supposed to assume that a 20 mil payroll is necessary to justify the 600+ mil price?  Is this just really bad PR on Crane's part or the new reality for Astros fans?

This kind of jibes - the article (based on Navin's summary at least) says they are clearing $60mm, so previous payrolls above $80mm or so would have led to losses.

As Mr. Happy alludes to, the real money is in the appreciation on these things (they don't make more of them). It's more like art investing. However, if you really want to make out like a bandit, being shitty with a $20mm payroll is probably the best/safest way to do it (granted, a lot depends on how much of the typical team's income in MLB is from national/shared vs. local/not-shared sources. I have only looked at NBA, where the national money is enough that a low payroll pretty much guarantees decent income).

No reasonable definition of whether you are making money includes paying down debt principal - that is effectively the same as putting money in the bank. That said, the cashflow is what it is, and still may preclude raising payroll.
