Posted by mihoba On June - 19 - 2005

Roy Oswalt baffled the Royals through 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits and a walk, to lead the Astros over the Royals Saturday night.

Willy Taveras , who reached base 5 times and scored 3 runs, led off the game with a single, advanced on an error by the leftfielder, was sacrificed to third by  Craig Biggio , and scored on a sacrifice fly by  Morgan Ensberg to draw first blood.

The Astros increased their lead in the 3rd inning after Taveras reached on a walk, and  Biggio drove him home with his 583 career double.

In the seventh,  Mike Lamb joined the RBI club with a single that scored Taveras, who had reached on his league leading 13th bunt single of the year.

The Astros capped their scoring in the 8th with a  Chris Burke  RBI single and a two run error by the Royals secondbaseman.

The Good Guys will attempt the sweep Sunday at 1:10 on FSSW,  Brandon Backe vs. Runelvys Hernandez.
